Selective absorption (Inhibition of absorption of excessive iron in healthy people)
Sodium Ferrous Citrate (SFC), the ingredient of Sanferol®, is highly absorbed in persons with iron deficiency but not excessively absorbed in person with high-normal blood iron parameters.10)11) SFC is thus expected to have a specific absorption mechanism different from other iron materials. It can be said that administration of SFC in persons with high-normal blood iron parameters does not cause excessive iron absorption, resulting in prevention of iron toxicity in healthy persons.
