Sodium Ferrous Citrate (SFC), is the drug substance in the prescription drug Ferromia®, which has been used over 25 years in Japan. Ferromia® accounts for more than 56.8% of the therapeutic agents for iron deficiency anemia in 2013. Accordingly, there are abundant clinical data on its efficacy and safety in patients, the elderly, healthy volunteers, pregnant women, fetuses and so on, compared to other iron materials.
