Sensory evaluation

A sensory test in which Sodium Ferrous Citrate (SFC), the ingredient of Sanferol®, was added to several beverages such as watery, crush and yogurt beverages was performed. SFC can be added to watery beverages without changing the taste or color.3) The taste of iron can be masked by adding sweetener, acidulants, and flavors etc. Taste and appearance of iron-added beverages and baked cookies were evaluated. The addition of SFC hardly affected the light taste of the sport beverage and did not change the heavy taste of the energy beverage.6)
